CME and CE Accreditations

Allopathic Physicians (MDs)
Audio-Digest Foundation produces all CME/CE activities available through TMS.

  • Accreditation: Audio-Digest Foundation activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the California Medical Association and the Audio-Digest Foundation. The California Medical Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation: The CMA designates each Audio-Digest educational activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The American Academy of family Physicians accepts Audio-Digest Family Practice for up to 98 prescribed credits annually, and Audio-Digest Emergency Medicine for up to 48 prescribed credits annually.

The American College of Emergency Physicians approves Audio-Digest Emergency Medicine for up to 48 hours of ACEP Category I.

The American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts up to 2 hours of Category 1 CME credit for each Audio-Digest activity completed successfully. AAPA accepts AMA category 1 CME credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by ACCME.

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners approves each Audio-Digest program for 2 contact hours of continuing education, including 0.5 contact hours of pharmacology continuing education.

Osteopathic Physicians (DOs)
Doctors of Osteopathy (DOs) may claim credit for Audio-Digest enduring materials for AOA Category II B. This AOA category permits DOs to claim CME credit for enduring materials that are designated for AMA PRA Category 1 credits, and for AAFP CME credits. Each DO should check with the AOA for the actual number of credits allowed.

CRNA Accreditation
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) approves Audio-Digest Anesthesiology programs for a maximum of 24 CE credits per volume. CRNAs must earn a score of 80% to receive credit, and are not permitted to retest, as per the AANA.

  • CRNA's may earn 1 credit per issue in Volume 50 from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009. Each issue is offered for CE credit for two years from its publication date for Volume 50.
  • For Volume 51 (January 1, 2009 to December 31. 2009), each issue is approved by the AANA for CE credit for one year from that issues publication date.

Please note that Audio-Digest Foundation will apply for a one-year renewal for Volume 51, but encourages CRNAs to complete the learning activiities during the first year.
